In 2014, Japan saw the release of big Pocket Monster games Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The games sold a ton in Japan, but not enough to reign supreme. However, keep in mind that Yokai Watch 2 went on sale July 10 in Japan, while Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire went on sale on November 21. Here’s how the figures compare: Yokai Watch 2 Ganso/Honke: 3,050,178 Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire: 2,464,850 Another thing to keep in mind is that, of course, ORAS is a remake, while Yokai Watch 2 Ganso/Honke are new games.
